2 1/4 c sifted flour
4 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cream of tarter
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
1/3 c plus 1 tbsp shortening
2/3 c milk
1 egg, unbeaten

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together first 5 ingredients. Cut shortening into mixture to make coarse crumbs. Add milk then the egg. Mix with fork until dough follows fork around bowl. Knead on floured board 5 or 6 times. Roll or pat to 1/2 inch thickness, cut out. Place on baking sheet about 3/4 inches apart. Bake at 450º 10-12 minutes
