2 c water
1 cup vinegar
1/4 c kosher salt
boil for 5 min.
In each scalded qt jar place 3-4 heads of dill, 2 pc of garlic, 1/2 hot pepper, and whole medium cucumbers until full.
Cover with hot brine and seal.

That amount makes 1 qt jar. It can be multiplied by as many cucumbers as you have to make pickles.
