5 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp ginger
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup molasses
2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well.

Melt shortening in saucepan. Remove from heat and add sugar and molasses. Stir ing eggs. Transfer to large bowl and add flour mixture a bit at a time, beating while adding. Divide in 3, wrap in saran wrap and cool in fridge for at least 1 hour.
Roll, cut and bake in 375º oven for 6-8 minutes. Cool completely before decorating.
