4 oz chocolate
3/4 c. Brown sugar (packed)
Melt over hot water
Stir in 1 c. Milk
Cool

Sift together:
1 1/2 c. Flour
1 c. Sugar
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp

Add: 1/3 c. Shortening
Cooled chocolate mixture
Directions:
Directions:
Beat vigorously for 2 minutes .

Add- 1/3 to 1/2 c. Unbeaten eggs (2)
Beat two minutes more
Pour into greased floured oblong pan 9 x 13 x 2
Bake for 35 minutes
