60oz tomato puree (6 10oz cans)
10oz water poured from puree can
24oz tomato paste (4 6oz cans)
˝ large onion, finely chopped
garlic powder, sprinkle freely on top
1 ˝ teaspoon basil
1 heaping tablespoon Italian seasoning
3 or 4 bay leaves
1 heaping tablespoon sugar
1 heaping tablespoon salt
pepper sprinkle freely on top

Directions:

Mix all together and simmer (with meatballs) for 4 to 5 hours. Add more water if needed for thickness. Stir occasionally, at least twice an hour, being careful not to break the meatballs.
