¾ cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 beaten egg
¼ cup molasses
2 cups flour
2-1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
confectioner’s sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, add egg and molasses. Sift flour, soda and spices together and stir into the creamed mixture. Chill. Form into balls the size of a walnut and roll in confectioner’s sugar. Place 2” apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake in hot oven at 400 deg. F for about 10 minutes.
