Slaw:
1 large head of cabbage
2 large onions
7/8 cup sugar

Dressing:
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp celery seed
1 TBSP salt
1 cup vinegar
3/4 cup salad oil

Directions:

SLAW:
Slice onions and shred cabbage thin. Place in alternate layers in large bowl. Sprinkle with sugar after each layer.
DRESSING:
Heat all ingredients to a rolling boil. Pour over cabbage. Cover tightly. Refrigerate.
