1 average size of coffee mug
2 eggs
1 mug flour
1 mug milk
1/2-3/4 mug sugar ( brown or white )
pinch salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 mug poppy seeds

Directions:
Preheat oven.

Beat eggs with sugar in a large mixing bowl until it's smooth and creamy
Add the baking soda and baking powder, salt into the flour, mix it together
Add flour mix small amount at the time alternate with the milk ,(small amount,) to the eggs, low speed with the mixer .
When it's well blended stir in the poppy seed with a wooden spoon.
Spray a medium baking pan (round, square) with butter spray, sprinkle a little flour and dust the pan.
Pour the mix into it.
Bake it on 350 for 20-25 minutes.
DO NOT open oven for the first 15 minutes otherwise the sponge cake wont rise!!
Check with a toothpick if the mix is baked

If you want to dress it up make a dark chocolate sauce on the top

It's a very easy , simple and quick sponge cake. In the summer time we make it with fresh plums, apricot or cherries ( cut in halves and place it on the top of the cake mix ) without the poppy seeds!!
