- 1 tablespoon butter, softened or olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon steak sauce, A-1
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme , minced
- 2 tsp garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 tsp salt, sea salt
- 1 tsp black pepper, fresh ground
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 Whole BEEF tenderloin, 3 pounds

Preheat oven to 450 F. Move oven rack to bottom third of oven.
Mix together rib ingredients in a small bowl. Rub all over beef. Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Place beef on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Place pan in oven and reduce temperature to 400F
Roast meat uncovered for 45-55 minutes, or until meat thermometer reads 140 F for medium rare.
Remove roast from oven and let stand, uncovered, for 10 minutes before slicing.
