4 cups steamed white rice
1 pound chuck eye steak
2 carrots
1 bunch spinach
1 bag 8 oz. bean sprouts
1 cucumber
4 Shiitake mushrooms (fresh or dried) (soak in warm water for 30 minutes if you use dried mushrooms and drain before using)
4 eggs
2 Tbs of sugar
a little salt
1 Tbs of black pepper
1/2 cup of soy sauce
1 Tbs of sesame oil
1 Tbs of sesame seeds
1 Tbs of minced garlic and
1 Tbs chopped green onion and 2 Tbs green onion (total of 3 Tbs)
a little of Gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)

1. Cook 4 cups of steamed rice
2. Make a marinade of 1/2 cup of soy sauce, 1 Tbs of minced garlic, 2 Tbs of chopped green onion, 2 Tbs of sugar, 1 Tbs of black pepper, 1 Tbs of sesame oil, and 1 Tbs of sesame seeds. (Tbs is a tablespoon)
3. Cut meat into 2 inch-long thin-sliced strips and place in marinade for 30 minutes in a sealed bag
4. Julienne carrots and saute in a lightly oiled skillet for 2-3 minutes - salt and pepper to taste
5. Cook thinly sliced shiitake mushrooms in the same way - 2-3 minutes
6. Boil salted water and blanch bean sprouts and spinach for 30 seconds in the water. Then give the sprouts and spinach a cold water shock and squeeze out water.Season as you like.
7. Cut the cucumber in half lengthwise then thinly slice. Sprinkle with salt and set aside for 15 minutes. Squeeze out excess liquid.
8. Take meat out of marinade and grill in a cast iron skillet or saute in a skillet for 2-3 minutes over high heat.
9. Fry the eggs one at a time
10. Put cooked rice in large shallow bowl and place grilled meat and veggies on top of rice but separately so you can see each ingredient beautifully placed on rice. Then place fried egg on top. When ready to eat, mix all ingredients together with some Gochuchang paste to taste.
