1 wheel of Brie
1 pear, preferably sweeter variety
3-4 tbsp butter
1/4 c brown sugar
chopped walnuts or pecans as desired

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Peel, core, and thinly slice pear. Trim top of rind off brie and discard, then place brie wheel in center of baking dish, top with pear slices, arranged neatly. Cut butter into very small cubes and arrange around pear slices, in center place brown sugar, garnish with nuts.

Bake 15-20 minutes until heated through.
Serve with crusty bread rounds, or crackers.

This is so easy, always enjoyable, and so many variations!

A frozen thawed puff pastry may be used to surround brie and toppings. Wrap tightly around brie, brush outside with egg wash, bake 30 minutes.

Fresh berries with jam and mint or rosemary can be placed on brie.
Sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and garlic, can also be used as a topping for a more savory appetizer.
