1 C. sugar
4 eggs, separated
3 Tbsp. cold water
1 C. flour
1 Tsp. baking powder
1 Tsp. vanilla
2 Lbs. powdered sugar & milk, for frosting
2 Lbs. of shell peanuts (ground)

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg yolks and sugar until very light. Add cold water and vanilla, mix, then add flour and baking powder. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake cake in lightly greased and floured (bottom only) 9 x 13 inch pan at 375º for about 30 minutes.
Cool and cut cake into 32 pieces (about 4 x 8 squares).
Frost all over with powdered sugar frosting and then roll the frosted pieces all over in the ground peanuts.
Let set a bit before serving.

Mom talked about her memory of Grandma Alice Fratzke making this recipe and how messy they were to make. I was able to get a copy of the recipe from Great Aunt Ethel several years back. :) I have attempted the recipe only once and didn't quite perfect it, but will try to make them again.
