1/2 cup shortening
2 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp soda
3 eggs
2 squares chocolate
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
2 cup brown sugar
3/4 tsp salt
Directions:
Directions:
Put flour, soda and salt in a bowl. Add sugar shortening and 3/4 of the milk,
beat. Add eggs, remainder of milk, chocolate an vanilla. Makes 2 or 3 layers.
Top with German Chocolate Nut topping
