3 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
1 large onion, peeled and sliced
1 can tomatoes, chopped
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Brown hamburger in frying pan. Drain off grease.

Put sliced onions on bottom of casserole dish. Add a layer of potatoes. Add hamburger, then the tomatoes. Salt and pepper to taste.

Cook at 350ºF for one hour to one and a half hours, until potatoes are tender.

This was Gramma's dinner on clothes washing day!! Back when washing clothes consisted of packing water, heating water, putting the clothes through the wringer and then hanging them on the clothes line.
