6-7 Macintosh or Granny Smith apples
1 Cup flour
1 Cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 egg
1/2 cup butter, unsalted

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, salt, sugar and baking powder. Peel, core and slice apples. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon, coating all pieces. Pour 1 egg in center of mixed dry ingredients and blend until crumbly. Place apples in square baking pan, dump dry mixture over them, melt 1/2 cup butter and pour over. Bake 350º for 30 or until golden brown.
