1 medium head cabbage shredded
1 teaspoon salt
Carrots or green pepper if desired
1/4 cup water
1 cup vinegar
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon mustard seed

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix cabbage and salt and let stand 1 hour. Squeeze out. Add grated carrots or green pepper if desired.
2. Make syrup with water, vinegar, sugar, celery seed, mustard seed. Tie in a cloth bag and drop into boiling syrup for a couple minutes.
3. Let syrup cool. Pour over cabbage and freeze.
