Ingredients:  
1 & 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup shortening
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 T. hot water
1 cup nuts
1/2 lb. chocolate chips
2 cups oatmeal
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Sift flour, soda and salt.
2. Cream shortening, sugar, add eggs.
3. Combine dry ingredients and creamed.
4. Add water, chocolate chips, nuts, oatmeal, vanilla.
5. MIx thoroughly.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
