1 cup honey
2 tablespoons water
1 cup brown sugar
4 cups flour
¼ teaspoon soda
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon cloves
1 cup almonds
½ cup candied orange peel
½ cup candied lemon peel
2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Heat honey and water in top of double boiler. When hot, add brown sugar and stir until dissolved. Set aside to cool. Sift dry ingredients onto almonds and fruit peels. Add eggs to honey and sugar, stir until mixed. Add to dry ingredients. Pack into well greased pan. Cover and set aside for 3 days to ripen. Remove dough from pan and roll into 1/8 inch thick. Cut into 1 x 2 inch sections. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Ice when cool.

ICING:

1 cup confectioners’ sugar add water until right consistency
