1/2 c. softened butter or margarine (1 stick)
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
2/3 cup milk
1 tsp. anise
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp. of milk
colored jimmies

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter & sugar; add eggs and anise in a large bowl.
Mix in dry ingredients alternating with milk.
Grease & flour cookie sheet ; place batter in long strips and bake 30 - 35 minutes at 350º. Cool completely then frost and shake jimmies. Cut diagonally and store in air tight container.
