3 egg whites
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
15 saltine crackers, rolled or pounded into crumbs
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg whites until slightly foamy. Mix all dry ingredients together and add to beaten egg whites along with the vanilla.

Pour into greased pie pan. Bake in oven that's preheated to 275 degrees for 40-45 minutes.

Serve with a generous amount of whipped cream (Cool Whip).

I believe this simple recipe dates back to the early 1900's and was possibly handed down from my husband's grandmother, Bertha (Fratzke) Jackson.
