Ingredients:  
1 & 1/4 cups of warm water
1 package dry yeast
2 T. soft shortening
2 teaspoons salt
2 T. sugar
3 cups sifted flour

Directions:
Directions:
1. In mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Add shortening, salt, sugar, and 1 & 1/2 cups flour.
2. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed in mixer. Add remaining flour until smooth. Cover and let rise 30 minutes. Then beat butter about 25 strokes. Spread in greased loaf pain. Let rise again, about 40 minutes.
3. Bake 45-50 minutes at 375 degrees. Brush top with butter or shortening.
