1/4 c. cornstarch
2/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. scalded milk
3 slightly beaten egg yolks
2 T. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. crushed pineapple
1 9" pice crust

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cornstarch, sugar and salt; gradually add milk. Cook in double boiler until thick about 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Slowly add a small amount of hot mixture to egg yolks; stir into remaining hot mixture. Cook 5 minutes; cool.
Add butter and vanilla and drained crushed pineapple. Pour into a cooled baked pie crust. Top with 1 c. heavy whipped cream. Garnish with half pineapple slices and maraschino cherries
