2 cups sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup water
2 cups raw spanish peanuts
1/2 tsp salt
1 T butter
1/4 tsp soda

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, light corn syrup, and water in heavy skillet. Cook slowly, stir til sugar is dissolved. Cook til softball stage 238º on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat while testing. Add nuts and salt when desired temperature reached. Cook to hard crack stage 290º stir constantly. Remove from heat. Add butter and soda. stir to blend, mix will bubble. Pour onto greased platter. Cool partially by lifting around edges with spatula. when firm, but still warm, turn over. cool completely. Break into pieces.
