One bunch broccoli or head of Cauliflower
6 -8 cloves garlic
Olive Oil
Water
Salt Pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Saute in olive oil smashed cloves of garlic in 3 qt. saucepan.

Cut off the hard ends of broccoli shoots, discard. Cut the rest of broccoli or cauliflower in large pieces and add to garlic. Add more olive oil and about a cup of water. Steam for about 15 minutes, checking pot and adding water as needed. Do not let it burn.

Remove from heat, add salt and pepper to taste.

All six of the sisters from Aunt Laura to Aunt Emma made this dish. Back when we did not eat meat on Fridays, this was a staple along with some sort of fried fish like whiting or perch.
