1 cup chopped dates
1 1/4 cup boiling water
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Place chopped dates in small bowl with boiling water and set aside.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9 X 13 cake pan.
Cream butter and sugar on med. high speed for 2 minutes. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Sift flour, soda, salt, and cocoa. Add alternating with date mixture. Pour batter into prepared pan.

Combine: 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, and 1 1/4 cups milk chocolate chips. Sprinkle on top of cake and bake for 30-35 minutes.
