18 granny smith cooking apples or do it the easy way and use canned apples
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
26 oz.cheddar cheese, grated
2 sleeves round, buttery crackers crumbled..ritz will do
1 cup margarine..butter is better..melted

Directions:
Simmer real Granny Smith apples in water til tender. Remove water, drain and place a layer in buttered casserole. combine remaining ingredients and sprinkle over apples...repeat layering until all ingredients are used..Bake @350 for 35-45 Min.

it takes a good bit of time but the flavor of this dish will surprise you..double it and you can feed an army..this one came from the Gift Horse in Foley Alabama
