2 cups green split peas
2 quarts water
1 ham bone
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup diced carrots
1 cup celery, diced
1 cup potato, diced
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
1. Prepare peas by:
1) soaking peas in water overnight or,
2) simmer peas for 2 mins., then soak for 1 hour
2. Place all ingredients in crock pot and cook on high for 8-10 hours until peas are cooked through and mushy. After about 6-7 hours, remove ham bone and take the meat off, returning it to the soup.
3. Enjoy with your favorite bread.
