1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 cups packed lt brown sugar
1/3 cup molasses
1/3 cup peanut butter
2 large eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup white flour
1 cup toasted wheat germ
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup raisins
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts or peanuts (opt.)

Directions:

Cream butter, sugar, molasses, and peanut butter. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Mix flours, wheat germ, soda, salt and cinnamon. Stir the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture until blended. Stir in the oats, raisins, chocolate chips, and nuts. Cover and chill for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease cookie sheets. Shape dough into balls using cookie scoop (or up to 1/4 cup). Place on sheets, leaving 3 inches between. Flatten slightly. Bake for 15-18 minutes. When done, tops will still be soft to the touch. Cool on the sheets 5 minutes, then transfer to rack to cool.

Makes about 2-3 dozen large cookies
