1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cream of tarter

Directions:
1. Mix sugar and butter. Add egg and flavoring; mix thoroughly. Stir dry ingredients together and blend in. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours.
2. Heat oven to 375º. Divide dough in half and roll to 3/16" thick on lightly floured pastry cloth. Cut with 2 to 2 1/2 inch cookie cutter; sprinkle with sugar. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 7 to 8 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
