1 chicken or chicken thighs
2 or 3 tbsp of shortening
3 cups water
1 tbsp salt
3/4 tsp pepper

1 cup carrots
1cup peas
1/2 cup celery
diced potatos
1/3 cup flour
1/2 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Cut chicken into serving -size pieces and brown on all sides in hot shortening. Place in dutch oven with water, salt and pepper. Cover and
cook 1 hour or until chicken is tender. Add vegetables about 30 min. before cooking time is up. Combine flour with 1/2 cup water and stir in
stew. Cook until medium thickness.
