15 3/4 cups flour
6 tablespoons baking powder
3 tablespoons baking soda
1 tablespoon salt
9 tablespoons nutmeg
2 1/4 teaspoons ginger
4 1/2 cups butter
12 cups sugar
18 eggs (3 cup powdered eggs & 3 cup water)
9 cups cooked or canned pumpkin
6 cups buttermilk
1 16 ounces package nut meats, if desired

Lemon Sauce
9 cups sugar
4 1/2 cups flour
18 cups boiling water
2 1/4 cups butter
27 tablespoons lemon juice
4 teaspoons grated lemon, rind

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°. Sift together flour, baking powder,
soda, salt, & spices in a large bowl. In another large bowl,
cream butter & sugar till light; beat in eggs. Combine
buttermilk & pumpkin, adding nuts if desired; blend into
egg mixture alternately with flour mixture until a smooth
batter is formed. Bake in.a greased and floured sheet
cake pan at 350 ° for approximately 1 hour, till toothpick
comes out clean. Serve with Lemon Sauce.

Lemon Sauce:
Sift together sugar and flour. Add to boiling water gradually, stirring constantly. Simmer mixture about 5 minutes. Then stir in butter, lemon juice, and rind. Cook over low heat until thick.
