Directions:
Sprinkle a cup of salt over tomatoes and onions at night. In morning, drain off salt. Then take 2 quarts of water and 1 quart of vinegar and boil all together for 20 minutes. Drain it off the pickle. Then take 2 quarts of vinegar and 1 lb. sugar, 1/2 lb. white mustard seed, 2 scant thsp. of black pepper, 1 tbsp. of cinnamon, 1 tbsp. of cloves, 2 tbsp. of ginger, 1 tbsp. of allspice.....Boil 20 min.or until tender. For my taste be sparing of the spice. Try 1/2 the recipe spice first.

Don't know whether anyone would ever make this but thought it should be preserved (that's a play on words!). Also, canning instructions are not included. See canning guides for an appropriate method and time.
