Batter:
2 c brown sugar
2 c flour
1 stick butter or oleo (1/2 cup)
1 egg
1 c milk
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp.salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Topping:
1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
6 large Heath Bars, chopped (toffee pieces and sweet chocolate chips may be substituted).
Whipped topping or vanilla ice cream (optional)



Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix brown sugar, flour, and butter. Set aside 1 cup of this mixture for later.

Add remaining batter ingredients and mix well. Pour into sprayed 9x13" pan. Top with the reserved mixture, nuts and Heath Bars.

Bake until a toothpick comes out clean, about 30 -35 minutes. Serve warm or cooled; top with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream, if desired.
