4 eggs
1-1/2 C. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 C. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 C. milt. scalded

Frosting
1/2 C. butter
1/2 C. brown sugar
1/4 C. milk
1 C. nuts(optional)
1 C. coconut
1 tsp vanilla
pinch salt

Cake
Beat eggs until very thick and lemon colored with no large bubbles. Slowly add sugar and vanilla-beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Fold by hand into the egg mixture. Stir in 1 C. of scalded milt. Bake in an ungreased 9 x 13 pan for 25 minutes at 350º.

Frosting
Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan. Add milk, stir in the rest of the ingredients. Spread on top of cake and broil until brown, at lower heat, at least 5" from heat. Should take about 5 minutes.

I don't remember a picnic with my Reinker relatives at Eagle Point Park without this cake made by Mom. It was a family tradition. We always called it "Hair Cake". Mom said Marinette named it "Hair Cake" since it looked like hair on a cake. At home, we would also have this cake, without the coconut topping. putting chocolate syrup on it instead. Fred coined the name "Robinhood Cake" for that. He said we always seemed to have it when Robinhood was on.
