1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 large eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 tablespoon vanilla flavoring

Directions:
Directions:
Beat sugars and butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until blended. Add oil and beat until blended. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add flour to batter alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Beat at low speed after each addition. Sitr in vanilla. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan.

Bake at 325º for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool.
Drizzle or frost with Caramel Frosting.

Caramel Frosting

1 (16 ounces) package light brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 (5 ounces) can evaporated milk
dash of salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

Combine first 4 ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring often. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add baking powder and vanilla. Beat at medium speed with an electric mixer 5 to 7 minutes or until thickened. Drizzle or frost Caramel Pound Cake quickly.
