5lbs of Onions
3lbs of Bellpepper
2 stalks of Celery
1 Lemon
4-5 Mint Leaves
2 quarts of cooking oil
8 oz. Mustard
1 large bottle of Ketchup
4-6 cans of tomatoe paste
Garlic
1/2 cup of Sugar
1/2 of Salt
Garlic or Garlic powder to your taste

Robyn and Henry's version (additional ingredients below)

1 Bottle Louisiana Hot Sauce
1/2 c. of Honey
1/2 c. Black Pepper
2 Tbsp. Red Pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 1st 6 ingredients and bring to a boil stirring constantly. Then add Ketchup and tomato paste and bring to a boil again. Then add sugar, salt, garlic and pepper to pot and cook for 3 or more hours.

This was my Dad's Best Man and Parrain's recipe. He owned Begnaud's U Need a Butcher in Lafayette, La. My Dad and I collaborated and made a few additions to his recipe. My mom and he also made this when the were in Norway when my Dad entered a BarBQue contest. On the way to the event the spilled almost the entire jar of sauce that had taken many hours of preparation.
