Swedish Meatballs Recipe

2 # ground beef
1/2 c. diced onion
2 eggs
1 c. oatmeal (minute)
1/2 c. water or milk
1 Tblsp worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste

1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream

Directions:
Directions:
Mix first 5 ingredients together to make meat mixture. Knead well until thoroughly mixed.

Roll meat mixture into 1 1/2 inch balls. Place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 400º for 10 minutes.

Place semi-cooked meatballs in a 3 quart pammed baking dish.

Mix soup and sour cream together and pour over meatballs.

Bake at 325º for 45 minutes. Should be bubbly and the meatballs thoroughly cooked.

Serve with mashed potatoes or wide egg noodles!!

Being of Norwegian and Swedish descent, this was a 'hit' for everyone in our family. Believe it or not, this recipe came from Grandma Thelma and not Grandma Violet! :-)

During the holidays, we made the meatballs much smaller and served them as a heavy appetizer. This was always a big favorite at Mom's Holiday Staff Party!!
