1 box of yellow or pineapple cake mix
Follow the directions on the cake mix box for a two-layer cake.
Bake and allow cake to cool.
Place first layer on a plate and poke holes in it with a fork.

Next drain 1 large can of crushed pineapple* and use to pour a small amount on the cake layers.

1 large container of Cool Whip
*1 large can of crushed pineapple
1 large box of instant vanilla pudding

In a large bowl...
Place the cool whip, add the vanilla pudding powder and mix well.
Add the well-drained pineapple and mix again.
Spread on the first layer.
Top with the second cake layer, poke holes again and add some pineapple juice on layer, then top with remaining icing.
Refrigerate.
