1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. milk
3 eggs
1 tsp almond extract
1 1/2 c flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan. Mix sugar, butter, shortening, milk, eggs and almond extract in large mixing bowl until moistened. Beat for 2 minutes at medium speed. Add flour to creamed mixture and beat two more minutes at medium speed. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes until golden brown and inserted toothpick comes out clean. Cover and freeze for 1/2 to 1 hour before cutting. (You can make this ahead; remove from pan, wrap in plastic wrap and freeze. Thaw slightly before cutting shapes).
Cut into desired shapes; to facilitate frosting, return to freezer after cutting.
