½ teaspoon vanilla
½ cup Crisco
½ cup brown sugar
¼ teaspoon water
1 egg
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
½ teaspoon soda*
½ teaspoon salt*
¾ cup M&Ms (or pecans)
¼ cup sugar

* omit if using self-rising flour
Directions:
Directions:
Blend Crisco and sugars. Beat in vanilla, water & egg. Sift remaining dry ingredients together & add to sugar & egg mixture. Mix well. Stir in M&Ms (or pecans). Drop from teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
