2 3/4 c. Flour
1 t. Salt
1 t. Baking soda
1 t. Baking powder
2 1/2 sticks unsalted butter (1 1/4 cups), softened
1 3/4 c. Packed dark brown sugar
1/4 c. White sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 t. Pure vanilla
2 c. Chocolate chips

Directions:
Cream butter in mixer until light and fluffy. Add sugars and beat well. Beat in eggs and vanilla until mixture fluffy. With mixture on low speed, add dry ingredients and beat until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
Line baking sheet with parchment and using scoop, drop balls of dough onto pan. When all dough has been formed into balls, cover pan with saran wrap and chill dough for at least one hour. I often will place dough in freezer and when it has frozen I place the frozen dough balls in large ziplok bags to bake later.
To bake, preheat oven to 375º. Line baking sheets with parchment and place dough about 2 inches apart. Bake until golden around the edges but still soft in the middle, about 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on pan for 5 minutes, before moving to cooling rack.
Can be baked from frozen, just add a couple minutes to baking time.

I have been on a life long quest for the perfect chocolate chip cookie and everyone in my family agrees that these are it! The dark brown sugar makes a big difference and if you can find them, either Callebaut or Giardelli chocolate chips are the best!
