1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 ½ cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
3 cups oatmeal

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the shortening and sugars. Add the 2 beaten eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt. Mix into the batter. Add the oatmeal and mix in. Shape the dough into a roll and wrap it in wax paper. Refrigerate over night. The next day, slice off the cookies and bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.

Raisins, dates or nuts can be added.
