1-1/4 cups (2-1/2 sticks) butter or margarine- softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
3/4 cup cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 package chips - choose peanut butter, white chocolate, chocolate

Directions:

Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Add dry ingredients and lastly chips. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 9 minutes at 375º. Don't overbake - cookies will be soft. Cool slightly before taking off cookie sheet.
