1 cup (2 cubes) butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. soda
4 tsp. baking powder
4-1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix together well. Allow to refrigerate an hour or more. Roll out on floured surface to 1/2 inch thick. Cut out with desired cookie cutters. Bake 10 minutes at 375º. Frost and decorate as desired

Don't roll too thin if you want them to be like the Lofthouse cookies you buy in the store. The sour cream keeps them soft - they really are delicious!
