3/4 cup sugar
1 Tbsp cornstarch (I've always had to add extra)
1 Tbsp flour (I've always had to add extra)
1/4 tsp salt
2 cups milk
1 whole egg
2 Tbsp margarine
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix well the sugar, cornstarch, flour and salt in double boiler. Stir in milk and cook until thick. Add a few Tbsp of milk mixture to the well beaten egg, margarine and vanilla. Add back to the pan of milk mixture. Boil 1 more minute. Cool.
Add bananas, coconut, etc.
Butterscotch--Use brown sugar. Add 1 T butter
Chocolate--Add 2 T Cocoa and 1/8 C sugar
Makes an 8" pie.
