2 egg whites
3 cups sugar
1/2 cup light karo syrup
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Let egg whites stand at room temp. for about 30 minutes
In a heavy 2 qt. saucepan stir sugar, karo syrup and water.
Cook and stir over medium heat until boiling. Clip candy thermometer
to pan and cook without stirring until it reaches 234º. (soft ball stage)
In mixer beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gradually pour about 1/2 of
hot syrup in a thin stream over whites beating on high for 3 minutes.
Cook remaining syrup until it reaches 260º. Gradually add it to whites.
Beat on high 5-6 minutes until it starts to loose it's gloss. Beat in vanilla.
Add nuts.
Drop on wax paper by spoon.
If mixture flattens out on test, beat 1 minute longer. If mixture is too stiff, beat in a few drops of water.
Store divinity in a tightly covered container.
