4 cups flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
2 tsp baking soda
2/3 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup molasses
1 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together flour, baking soda, and spices. In separate bowl cream shortening and brown sugar. add egg, molasses and milk. Add dry ingredients. Drop by spoonful onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350ºf for 12 to 15 minutes. Store in tightly covered containers.
