2 cups water
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup shortening
1 3/4 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves, nutmeg, and allspice
1/2 tsp. salt
1 beaten egg
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Boil water and raisins rapidly, remove from heat, add shortening. Put aside until shortening melts. Sift all dry ingredients together and mix with raisin mixture. Add eggs and nuts to batter. Batter will be thin. Bake in cup cake papers at 375º
for 25 minutes. These are good with chocolate frosting.
