1 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 c. flour
1/4 c. cornstarch
1/2 c.finely chopped Sunsweet cherries
1/4 c. chocolate chips, finely chopped

Drizzle:
1/2 c. chocolate chips
1 tsp. shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter, sugar, and extract well. Slowly blend in flour and cornstarch. Add cherries and chocolate. Form into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Pour sugar on a small plate. Dip bottom of a drinking glass in the sugar, then press down on each cookie to flatten it.

Bake 300º for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the bottoms begin to brown. Cool 5 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.

Drizzle:

Melt chocolate and shortening in a freezer bag in the microwave on high for 30 seconds. Cut off the corner of the bag and drizzle over cookies.
