Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup buttermilk (a glass-measuring cup - put 1 tsp. soda and let set)
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking powder
Large can of Crisco shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and eggs together well. Beat in cream, vanilla, and buttermilk. Add dry ingredients and mix well.
Melt shortening in electric frying pan until close to top. Heat oil to 370º in frying pan. Spray doughnut dropper with Pam. Fill doughnut dropper with batter and drop doughnut into hot oil. Flip right away after it comes to top and fry until brown. I always place doughnuts on paper towel after removing from oil.
I like to mix sugar and cinnamon together for dipping doughnuts into after removing from frying pan.
I usually always double or triple this recipe!
